Quick Write
My favorite was kid writing, This may be bias seeing as this was the topic I was reporting on. This could be because I know more about it than others. I like the idea of just letting the kids write. At a young age it is important not to discourage their weak writing abilities. I also liked Sitton spelling. It covered a wide variety of ways for practice. Therefore, if one way works better for one student and another for someone else it would be easy to incorporate both.

What I Learned This Week
This week in class I learned a lot of new things somethings that I may not have even realized yet. First of all I learned you should not be afraid of technology because once you use it over and over to learn that basics it is a great resource for the classroom. I also learned not to only rely on technology because sometimes it does not work correctly so always have a back up plan. What I learned in the Differentiated Classroom video is just how important it is to create your lesson plans for all the different levels and types of learners and how you will incorporate it all.

21st century classroom
A 21st century classroom is constantly changing with new and improved technology that comes about each year. In every classroom you are almost guaranteed to see at least 3 desktop computers if not a few laptops. It is also very common having a television to watch educational DVD's. In many classrooms you are starting to see overhead projectors being replaced with smart boards which is also making blackboards obsolete. Textbooks are becoming scarce. Textbooks are being replaced by teaching kits and computer programs. I have also noticed in the classroom desks are almost always placed in groups. This allows for teachers to group students by ability for lessons. There is also a tendency for the walls to be completely covered with rules, maps, calenders, art work and other educational posters.
